Portable badminton courts must fulfil three core requirements: rapid assembly, stability during play without displacement, and damage-free relocation. This primarily concerns whether the court surface flooring can be installed and dismantled with ease. To meet these demands, Shengbang offers PVC badminton court flooring featuring hook-and-loop fastening. Requiring no adhesive application or welding, they are convenient to use, simply requiring hook-and-loop connection.
Installation and removal:
A standard badminton court size (13.4m × 6.1m) requires only 2-3 persons to complete full-court laying within 45-60 minutes — taking merely one-quarter the time of conventional PVC flooring. Each mat panel (standard sizes 1m × 1.5m or 1m × 2m) features pre-applied hook-and-loop fasteners on all four edges. Simply align the ‘hook’ surface of one panel with the ‘loop’ surface of another and press firmly for secure joining.
Panels detach cleanly by gently pulling along a 45° angle, leaving no adhesive residue and causing no damage to underlying surfaces (e.g., wooden floors, concrete, carpets). The mats fold compactly (a 1m×1.5m panel folds to just 30cm×30cm), facilitating storage or transport within a standard car boot or storage room.
Nylon hook-and-loop fasteners exhibit a tensile strength ≥50 N/cm (SGS-certified), meaning each centimetre can withstand 50kg of lateral force – sufficient to resist the impact generated when athletes dive for the ball.
Unlike budget mats with marginal Velcro, Shengbang mats feature 100% perimeter Velcro coverage, ensuring seamless panel joints (gap ≤0.1mm) and preventing panel lifting during play.
Beyond panel-to-panel hook-and-loop fastening, the mat base incorporates a dotted PVC anti-slip layer (friction coefficient ≥0.6 against concrete surfaces). This dual anti-slip structure – ‘panel-to-panel’ + ‘mat-to-floor’ – ensures zero displacement even on smooth indoor surfaces.
The hook-and-loop fasteners resist sweat, dust, and neutral cleaning agents. Residue wipes away with a damp cloth post-use, maintaining adhesion through 200+ assembly/disassembly cycles (sufficient for weekly use over 5+ years). The hook-and-loop is thermally bonded to the mat edges (not glued), preventing detachment even after repeated pulling. Durability testing confirms the hook-and-loop remains intact after 500+ pulls, significantly exceeding industry standards.
Wear-resistant layer + PU surface: PU-coated PVC resists abrasion from badminton shoes (e.g., non-marking rubber soles) while maintaining slip resistance (dry friction coefficient ≥0.7, wet ≥0.6).
Cushioning Foam Layer: Closed-cell EVA foam with high impact absorption.
Velcro Anti-Slip Base: Nylon Velcro fasteners bonded to the floor backing, preventing movement and enhancing slip resistance.
Shuttlecock Bounce Rate: Standard shuttlecock dropped from 1.5m height achieves ≥80% bounce rate (BWF Badminton Mat) – ensuring stable flight paths with minimal deviation during competitive play.
Mat Weight: 3.5–4.0kg/m² (adjusted per foam layer thickness) — Single-person portability for 2–3 panels, moderate weight, minimal displacement during activity.
Water Resistance: Fully waterproof PVC surface suitable for semi-outdoor settings (e.g., resort pavilions) or indoor areas prone to spills, unaffected by minor moisture.
3.0mm foam layer: Suitable for indoor settings (homes, schools), prioritising portability (lighter weight, easier folding).
4.0mm foam layer: Suitable for outdoor or professional training (tournaments, clubs), offering enhanced cushioning and durability.
Ensure substrate deviation ≤2mm per 2 metres (verify with spirit level). Prior to installation, wipe both the substrate and hook-and-loop surfaces with a dry cloth to remove dust and grit — debris reduces adhesion.
After use, wipe the surface with a damp cloth and neutral detergent. Clean the hook-and-loop areas with a soft-bristle brush to remove hair and debris, maintaining tackiness. When storing, fold along the panel edges (avoid folding in half) to prevent permanent creases. Keep in a cool, dry place (away from direct sunlight or high humidity) to prevent foam layer degradation.
Should the hook-and-loop fastener become damaged, Shengbang provides self-adhesive replacement strips for repair within 5 minutes, eliminating the need to replace the entire panel.
